UK consults on raising threshold for insurance liabilities compensation scheme

( September 16, 2025, 10:26 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The UK's prudential regulator opened a 13-week consultation on Tuesday on raising the threshold of insurance liabilities covered by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme to £600 million ($818 million) from £500 million. The Prudential Regulation Authority said increasing the threshold, which determines the point at which the PRA may require a third-country insurer to establish a UK subsidiary rather than operate through a branch, would result in a £4 million direct net benefit to the industry over the near term.Consultation paper is attached....
