France, Germany issue joint economic agenda

( August 29, 2025, 15:55 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The Franco-German economic agenda, released today, is part of a general reset of the relationship between the EU’s leading economic and political powers. This bilateral effort to reach a coordinated position takes the form of eight working groups dedicated to energy, trade, economic security, emerging technologies, digital sovereignty, competitiveness, the European single market, social policy and finance. Among other things, Germany and France agreed to cooperate on cloud sovereignty and to develop joint proposals on digital market competition and simplifying the EU legal framework. A summit on digital sovereignty is scheduled for Nov. 18.The full text is attached....
