UK financial watchdog sets baseline data to monitor access-to-cash rules

( August 22, 2025, 11:12 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The Financial Conduct Authority has released a set of data that will act as a baseline to monitor the impact of its access-to-cash rules. The FCA publishes quarterly data on geographical cash access coverage in the UK. The Q2 2024 dataset released today is the first one produced using data collected under the new access-to-cash regime, which requires designated firms to identify gaps in cash provision and provide additional cash access services if needed. The FCA found that 99.2 percent of the UK urban population and 98.5 percent of the UK rural population are respectively within one mile and three miles of a free-to-use cash access point offering withdrawals.Statement is attached....
