American Express, plaintiffs fight over schedule ahead of Aug. 11 antitrust trial

( August 7, 2025, 22:11 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Plaintiffs suing American Express over allegedly anticompetitive anti-steering rules told a US federal judge ahead of an Aug. 11 retrial that there is "no actual dispute or obstacle" that would preclude the trial from going forward and argued that jury selection can be followed immediately by opening statements and testimony of the parties' witnesses. American Express told the court that the plaintiffs' proposed schedule does not work and has no margin for error. "This concern is compounded for the three Class Representatives who now refuse to testify at all," the defense said. The first trial, which started July 28, was called off by US District Judge Nicholas Garaufis following juror misconduct.See attached document....
