Six charged in GBP75 million SFO pension fraud probe in UK

( July 24, 2025, 12:31 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The UK’s fraud office has charged six individuals with fraud-related offenses following a “complex” investigation into the transfer of 75 million pounds of pension funds into storage units sold by UK storage company Store First. The Serious Fraud Office said 1,900 investors transferred their pensions, and that investors were promised a long leasehold on a unit and a return on their investment from renting the unit out. The SFO said misrepresentations were made in marketing the product, including that investors would receive a guaranteed return.Statement below....
