UK, Swiss financial firms consulted on interest in cross-border service provision

( July 23, 2025, 10:44 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: UK and Swiss financial firms have been asked by the Financial Conduct Authority to submit their interest in providing cross-border services as part of the Berne Financial Services Agreement. The agreement is expected to enter into force in early 2026. Under the treaty, UK insurance companies will be able to provide wholesale insurance services to the Swiss domestic market without requiring local authorization. And Swiss firms will be able to provide investment services to high-net-worth UK clients, professional clients and eligible counterparties, without requiring authorization in the UK. The express for interest does not replace the formal notification process once the agreement enters into force, the FCA said.Statement follows....
