New model to deliver upgraded UK retail payments published

( July 15, 2025, 10:18 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The UK’s finance ministry today published details of a new public-private collaboration intended to deliver upgraded infrastructure for retail payments. The Retail Payments Infrastructure Board, chaired by the Bank of England, will oversee work of an industry-led Payments Vision Delivery Committee, chaired by Vim Maru, the CEO of Barclays. The delivery committee will work closely with Pay.UK, which will continue in its existing role as the operator of UK payment systems. In the autumn, the committee will publish its strategy for retail payments infrastructure.Statement below....
