UK seeks views on rules for non-financial firms trading commodities derivatives

( July 3, 2025, 15:32 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The UK's financial watchdog has opened an eight-week consultation on simplifying the rules for non-financial firms trading commodities derivatives on a small scale. The Financial Conduct Authority has suggested establishing three simpler separate and independent tests for assessing a firm's eligibility for an exemption from having to seek authorization as an investment firm. Currently, an exemption is based on complex calculations that require market data to be sourced every year at a cost, the watchdog said. The consultation is due to close on August 28, 2025.Consultation is attached....
