Former Metro Bank executives see UK listing rules breach upheld by court

( June 17, 2025, 05:01 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The UK's Financial Conduct Authority has said its decision that the former chief executive and chief financial officer of Metro Bank knowingly breached UK listing rules has been upheld by a tribunal. The FCA decision concerns a “material error” that Metro knew was contained in a 2018 statement on the bank’s risk weighted assets. When the correct data was published in 2019, the bank’s shares dropped 39 percent. In 2022, the FCA fined former CEO Craig Donaldson and former CFO David Arden 223,100 pounds and 134,600 pounds respectively. Their appeals were the subject of the Upper Tribunal decision yesterday.
