BPCE to acquire Portuguese bank Novobanco

( June 13, 2025, 15:10 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: French bank BPCE said today that it will acquire 75 percent of Portuguese lender Novobanco from private equity firm Lone Star Funds, for approximately 6.4 billion euros. It is also in talk with the Portuguese government and the Portuguese Banking Resolution Fund to buy the remaining 25 percent. BPCE said it intends to complete the transaction in the first half of 2026.Press release follows....
