Small mid-caps companies supported in EU market rules review

By Fanny Roux ( May 21, 2025, 16:08 GMT | Insight) -- The European Commission has proposed amendments to the Markets in Financial Instruments Directive and to the Prospectus Regulation, in a new package proposal aimed at extending supportive measures to small mid-cap companies, similar to those available for small and medium-sized enterprises. The proposal includes a simplified prospectus that could save each company around 20,000 euros, and is now awaiting discussion by both the Council of the EU and the European Parliament.The European Commission has put forward legal texts amending the Markets in Financial Instruments Directive and the Prospectus Regulation, in order to extend supportive measures for SMCs — small mid-cap companies — in line with what's already available for SMEs — small and medium-sized enterprises....
