Single Market Strategy on regulatory simplification released by EU Commission

( May 21, 2025, 11:42 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: EU small and medium-sized enterprises will see some regulatory requirements simplified to save them around 400 million euros in administrative and other costs, under a Single Market Strategy published by the European Commission today. The strategy creates a Small Mid-Cap, or SMC, category of companies to benefit from supportive measures available for SMEs. On trade, the commission will set up a help desk to assist companies in filing dumping or anti-subsidy complaints and help them collect the required data. On energy, the strategy exempts SMCs, in the same way as SMEs, from rules on due diligence and tracing back supply chains of battery raw materials. It also reduces the frequency of public reporting for all companies involved from yearly to once every three years.Statement follows and Single Market Strategy as well as Q&A are attached. ...
