Australian antirust regulator appoints former anti-scam agency manager as CEO

( May 5, 2025, 04:18 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: A former manager of the National Anti-Scam Centre has been appointed as the chief executive officer of the Australian antitrust agency, the regulator said. In a statement today, the Australian Competition & Consumer Commission said that Sarah Proudfoot was acting as the chief executive officer since February 2025 following the departure of the former CEO Scott Gregson in January. Proudfoot, who was appointed executive general manager of the National Anti-Scam Centre in August 2024, joined the regulator in 2005 and held the role of executive general manager of the watchdog’s infrastructure division between 2020 and 2024, among other senior roles.The full statement by the Australian Competition & Consumer Commission follows:...
