ECB to recommend ways to simplify banking supervision by the end of the year

By Fanny Roux ( April 30, 2025, 14:06 GMT | Insight) -- The European Central Bank's supervision arm has set up a task force to recommend ways to simplify the European banking oversight framework while maintaining the current level of bank resilience, the ECB told MLex, confirming a Bloomberg report. ECB Vice President Luis de Guindos told MLex that this high-level group will deliver its recommendations by the end of the year, with the proposals requiring endorsement by the ECB Governing Council before they are shared with the EU legislators.The European Central Bank's banking supervision arm has launched a task force to recommend how to simplify the European prudential regulatory, supervisory, and reporting framework by addressing undue complexity, MLex has learned....
