Michigan files antitrust claims against Express Scripts, Prime Therapeutics

( April 28, 2025, 21:52 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel filed a complaint today accusing pharmacy benefit managers Express Scripts and Prime Therapeutics of conspiring to fix and suppress the compensation amounts they pay to non-pharmacy benefit manager-affiliated pharmacies in Michigan for prescription drugs. According to the complaint, in exchange for access to Express’ buying power and pharmacy network rates (contractual provisions which are normally kept confidential and treated as competitively sensitive by PBMs), Prime agrees to pay administrative fees to Express for each transaction Prime pays at Express’ rate.See attached file. ...
