Volatility has no impact on capital markets plan, EU finance chief says

By Fanny Roux ( April 14, 2025, 09:24 GMT | Insight) -- EU finance chief Maria Luis Albuquerque said that the European Commission remains committed to its timeline for the "Savings and Investment Plan," despite current geopolitical uncertainties and market volatility. The commission's approach to the upcoming securitization review remains focused on "reviewing prudential requirements for banks and insurers" to "free up lending capacity in banks."The EU financial services chief remains committed to her plan to deepen EU capital markets while monitoring the impact of the trade war on financial markets. The competitiveness of capital markets in an uncertain environment was discussed during a meeting of EU finance ministers which commissioner Maria Luis Albuquerque attended in Warsaw on April 11....
