Cambodia joins Asean regional payment connectivity project

( April 9, 2025, 03:55 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The National Bank of Cambodia has formally joined the Asean Regional Payment Connectivity initiative, marking a key step in advancing the group's goal of seamless cross-border payments within the Southeast Asian region. With Cambodia's inclusion, nine Asean central banks are now signatories to the initiative, which supports faster, cheaper and more inclusive cross-border transactions through quick response, or QR, code-based payment and fast payment modalities. The initiative was established in 2022 by Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore and Thailand.The full statement is attached....
