Maintain securities-financing liquidity rules, EU Commission proposes

( March 31, 2025, 10:53 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The European Commission has proposed maintaining the current rules on liquidity requirements for certain financial transactions, namely short-term securities financing transactions. Under current EU rules, they benefit from lower liquidity requirements than those set out in the Basel III standards, but this is set to expire in June. The commission said this proposal aims to ensure a level playing field for banks, and to support the liquidity of EU markets.Statement follows....
