Samsung gets partial stay in Maxell infringement suit parallel to USITC probe

( March 24, 2025, 14:59 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: An Eastern District of Texas magistrate judge granted in part and denied in part a Samsung motion for a stay in its patent infringement suit against Maxell. Maxell accused Samsung of infringing seven of its patents for camera technology in 2023, parallel to a complaint at the US International Trade Commission that Samsung infringed six Maxell patents in violation of Section 337 of the Tariff Act. The Section 337 investigation was instituted in January. Only one patent is common between both actions, US Patent No. 11,445,241. The judge severed that patent from the rest of the infringement suit and granted a stay pending the outcome of the USITC investigation, but denied a stay as to the other patents.See the order attached....
