Revolut, Visa appeal UK payments regulator’s interchange fees cap

( March 7, 2025, 17:00 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Revolut and Visa have filed for judicial review of the UK Payment Systems Regulator’s decision to cap interchange fees charged for European Economic Area to UK cross-border payments and online credit and debit card payments. Revolut said it disagreed with the PSR’s assessment and believed the regulator had acted beyond its statutory powers. “We have therefore requested the court to review, and ultimately overturn the PSR’s decision.” Visa said: "This narrow legal action is focused only on the PSR’s legal authorization and process related to price setting to ensure a fair and thorough process, and give clarity to the industry."
