UK lawmakers urged to make Lloyds publish HBOS fraud review

( February 11, 2025, 10:04 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The UK's cross-party Treasury Committee has been urged to compel Lloyds Banking Group to publish in full a review into a 1 billion-pound fraud perpetrated by HBOS, a wholly owned subsidiary. The Linda Dobbs Review was initiated following a 2017 trial, which resulted in the jailing of a senior HBOS manager for defrauding small businesses. “It seems there is now an attempt to hide the full review once it is published,” the Transparency Taskforce’s letter to committee chair Meg Hillier said. The Taskforce also published a 2018 letter, in which Lloyds committed to fulfilling any requests made to it by the committee.Letters attached. ...
