Trade-settlement group sets out implementation plan for UK’s T+1 transition

( February 6, 2025, 12:47 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The Accelerated Settlement Taskforce Technical Group has set out 12 “critical” and 21 “highly recommended” actions to facilitate the UK’s transition to faster trade settlement, which is due on Oct. 11, 2027. The group said the government should set the date via an amendment to the UK Central Securities Depositories Regulation. Necessary changes to that to facilitate the transition to T+1 would be flexible enough to accommodate other countries, such as Switzerland and EU member states, the group said.
