UK credit unions' common bond requirements come under closer scrutiny from government

( November 15, 2024, 09:32 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The UK government launched a consultation to amend the bond requirements of credit union members. Credit unions are member-owned and democratically controlled financial institutions which provide loans and savings products to their members. Credit union members must have specific common bonds between them. These are the links and common communities between members. The finance ministry said that it is exploring whether parts of the common bond requirement should change to help credit unions "grow sustainably."  Consultation is attached....
