EU regulators' review of bank-account data transfer accords under way, EDPB says

( August 2, 2021, 16:34 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Some European data protection authorities have started to review international agreements allowing for the transfer of EU citizens' bank-account information to ensure their compliance with strict EU data protection rules, Andrea Jelinek, chair of the European Data Protection Board, said in a letter to Dutch European Parliament Member Sophie in 't Veld. Jelinek said that one European data protection authority has received a  complaint regarding the US Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act, which requires EU banks to provide bank-account information on US citizens in Europe.Letter follows....
