US House Republican committee leaders lash out against Khan's FTC leadership

( July 29, 2021, 18:47 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The ranking Republican members of three congressional committees wrote to the US Federal Trade Commission to express serious concerns with "partisan actions" at the agency by Democratic commissioners and Chair Lina Khan, accusing them of acting to "consolidate agency power, unilaterally assert and expand regulatory authority, and abandon bipartisan and open processes." The letter is signed by Jim Jordan of the House Judiciary Committee, Cathy McMorris Rodgers of the House Energy and Commerce Committee and James Comer of the Committee on Oversight and Reform. "In just the first weeks of Chair Khan’s leadership, the Biden FTC is embarking on a rapid and concerted effort to upend long-standing bipartisan agency policy with little public notice or opportunity to participate," the letter states.
