China's new merger control regulations released for public consultation

( January 7, 2020, 03:23 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: China’s State Administration for Market Regulation is seeking public comment until Feb. 7 on a set of its provisional regulations on the review of mergers and acquisitions among business operators. In the draft regulations published today, the regulator has set out requirements that need to be met when applying the simplified review procedure, and has also offered detailed explanations about factors that would be considered in reviewing deals, such as market share, levels of market concentration and barriers to entry.
