Eurogroup to identify priority areas for capital markets union over next year, Donohoe says

( May 16, 2023, 09:31 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Eurozone finance ministers will draw up a list of requests for the European Commission by March 2024 on how to bolster the EU's single market for investment, the president of the Eurogroup, Paschal Donohoe, has said. Ministers discussed the plans at a meeting on Monday, with Donohoe saying ministers "want to go beyond those topics that are already on the legislative agenda" and consider further plans to "make a difference to how we can better fund growth" in the bloc. The officials also discussed the benefits and the drawbacks of allowing non-Eurozone users to access a potential future digital Euro, discussing options and trade-offs with the European Central Bank.Speech follows....
