Japan's main business lobby publishes FY 2021 carbon neutral preliminary progress report

( November 8, 2022, 03:45 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Japan’s largest business lobby, Keidanren, published on Nov. 7 its preliminary carbon neutral progress report for the fiscal year 2021 which ended in March 2022. The group reported that more than 60 percent of industrial sectors that the group covers have formulated plans to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050 — a goal put forward by the Japanese government in 2020. It also showed that while there was an increase of carbon emissions in FY 2021 compared with the previous year where Covid restrictions severely halted business activities, it was still a 17.7 percent reduction from 2013 levels.The report, in Japanese, is attached....
