Seventeen states, DC back US FTC's proposed ban on noncompetes

( April 19, 2023, 18:20 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary:  Seventeen US state attorneys general including those in California, New York and Colorado, as well as the attorney general of the District of Columbia, have announced their support for the Federal Trade Commission's proposed ban on noncompete clauses. In a letter to Chair Lina Khan in response to the agency's feedback period on the new rule, the attorneys general say it would benefit both workers and competition and will "uniquely benefit the healthcare industry." Most of the states that are signatories to the letter don't have statutes that already ban the clauses.Letter attached....
