Malaysia's Securities Commission implements new guidelines to counter cyber risks

( November 1, 2016, 05:06 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Malaysia’s Securities Commission has published new guidelines to improve the resilience of the capital markets to cyber risks by requiring capital market entities to set up and apply effective governance measures to counter cyber risks and protect investors. The guidelines require entities to outline the roles and responsibilities of the board, responsible persons and key personnel in critical functions with a role in managing cyber risks. It also requires entities to put a risk management framework into place to minimize cyber threats, implement adequate measures to identify potential vulnerabilities in their operating environment and ensure a timely response and recovery in the event of a cyber-breach.
