German banks win EU court challenge against Single Resolution Fund contributions

( July 17, 2024, 10:09 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: German banks including Deutsche Bank and UniCredit Bank have won their EU court challenges against the Single Resolution Board's 2021 decisions calculating their financial contributions to the EU-wide bank emergency fund. The General Court today annulled the decisions but maintained their effects, giving the authority a maximum of six months to issue new decisions. These cases are part of a wider range of court challenges initiated by EU banks over their contributions to the Single Resolution Fund.The rulings (in German) are attached.
