Gas’s inclusion in sustainable investments list challenged by environmental organizations

( April 18, 2023, 08:19 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The European Commission's decision to include certain gas uses in a sustainable investment list is being challenged at the EU's top court by ClientEarth, the WWF European Policy Office, Transport & Environment, and Friends of the Earth Germany (BUND). The green organizations said they filed a case today, and argue that the commission's decision clashes with EU laws and goes against international climate obligations. “Labeling fossil gas as ‘sustainable’ is as absurd as it is unlawful. It goes against the EU’s own scientific advice and fundamentally undermines the credibility of the EU’s climate action,” a spokesperson for the applicants said in a statement.Press release follows....
