UK will decide on leverage ratio this year, Bank of England’s Cunliffe says

Authorities could vary the ratio to counter credit cycles. Long-term liquidity rules for banks must be tightened, Cunliffe said, while noting concerns about choking off trading. International groups are working on setting a minimum amount of “bail-in” debt for banks and rewriting of derivatives contracts, to help resolve future bank failures, he said.The statement follows:...
