TSB Bank individual fined GBP80,000 for 2018 IT outage

( April 13, 2023, 10:01 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: TSB Bank’s former chief information officer has been fined just over 80,000 pounds ($102,000) by the UK's Prudential Regulation Authority, for failings that led to an IT outage in 2018. The PRA said Carlos Abarca’s failure to scrutinize a third-party supplier’s readiness to migrate data onto a new platform breached its Senior Managers Regime. The incident saw a large portion of TSB’s customers unable to access their banking services, and led to a fine of almost 50 million pounds for the bank itself last year.Statement follows.
