EU may waive banks' stable-funding rule amid global review, in draft compromise

( March 13, 2018, 17:21 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: European banks would only report their long-term liquidity position, rather than having to meet minimum requirements for stable funding resources, until related global standards fall into place, under a proposal debated by national finance ministers. In an unsuccessful bid for a deal on banking rules today, Bulgarian officials leading the talks proposed compromises on requirements for big banks to hold subordinated debt to absorb losses in case of failure.
