International Energy Agency: IEA says immediate action needed to sustainably enhance energy security and avert climate change

( December 6, 2011, 18:50 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Maria van der Hoeven, Executive Director at the IEA, has called for steps to be taken immediately and independently of the Durban climate conference to help avert climate change, as the summit is not expected to trigger much progress. If no action is taken in the next years, it will be more difficult to limit the global increase in temperatures to two degrees.
