US Supreme Court declines to rule on lawsuits challenging Texas, Florida content-moderation laws

By Madeline Hughes ( July 1, 2024, 17:10 GMT | Insight) -- The US Supreme Court declined to rule today on whether two state content-moderation laws are barred by the First Amendment, instead sending the lawsuits back to lower courts for more analysis. In a unanimous decision, the justices said because the arguments at the lower court were too focused on the application of the laws to the largest social media websites, the appeals courts of the Fifth and Eleventh Circuits failed to properly analyze the Texas and Florida laws to determine whether they're unconstitutional.The US Supreme Court declined to rule today on whether two state content-moderation laws are barred by the First Amendment, instead sending the lawsuits back to the lower courts for more analysis....
