IPCC Statement: Summary for Policymakers of the Special Report on Managing the Risks of Extreme Events and Disasters to Advance Climate Change Adaptation

( November 20, 2011, 18:00 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: A report from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) has concluded with "high confidence that both maximum and minimum daily temperatures have increased" around the world because of rising greenhouse gas emissions. The link between emissions and extreme weather events is however found to be uncertain. The IPCC report is published to support annual government meetings at the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), which will run this year from 28 November to 9 December in South Africa.Full press release follows:...
