Peru’s Indecopi sanctions, fines national bank for improper account closure

( June 21, 2024, 12:00 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Peru’s consumer protection authority, the Consumer Protection Specialized Chamber of Indecopi, has sanctioned Banco de Crédito del Perú S.A. (BCP) for failing to properly inform a customer about the closure of their dollar savings account and subsequently transferring the savings to the Deposit Insurance Fund.
