( March 18, 2010, 15:24 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The European Commission will calibrate changes to bank capital requirements this autumn to strike a balance between curbing risky activities and choking off lending to businesses, said Michel Barnier, internal market and services commissioner. He said the commission also plans to expand pay controls from banking to other financial sectors as a check on risk-taking, and to examine compensation policies at listed companies to focus on long-term performance.
