CFPB seeks nearly $10 million from firms for unfair billing of credit-card products

( July 1, 2015, 17:30 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The US Consumer Financial Protection Bureau on Wednesday charged two credit card add-on vendors, Affinion and Intersections, for unfairly charging consumers for add-on products and services they did not receive. This is the first CFPB enforcement action directly against add-on product vendors, the agency said. Affinion, based in Connecticut and Tennessee, would pay $8.7 million under the proposed order. Intersections, based in Virginia, would pay $1.26 million. Both orders must be approved by federal courts.Statement follows in full....
