No EU regulation of the press, print publishers say

( August 30, 2022, 15:00 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Two trade bodies representing the European newspaper and magazine industries have published a list of concerns about the forthcoming European Media Freedom Act, urging the EU not to regulate print media. The European Commission says the EMFA will, among other things, help tackle state interference in the media in countries such as Hungary. But the European Newspaper Publishers' Association and the European Magazine Media Association say that problem should be addressed through political pressure, and that EU media regulation should go no further than current rules on audiovisual media services.The statement is attached....
