Stock newsletter company, owner to pay $1.5 million to settle fraud charges

Jesus, have agreed to pay nearly $1.5 million to settle charges that they defrauded subscribers through false statements and misrepresentations. The SEC alleged that Wealthpire falsely claimed that Jesus, a supposed prodigy and self-purported “stock trading whiz kid” under the alias Manny Backus, was personally recommending trades to subscribers that he made himself. Statement follows in full.
