Insurers' concerns must be considered in privacy regulation, Insurance Europe says

( June 15, 2015, 14:25 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Data-protection regulations up for negotiation between EU governments, the European Parliament and the European Commission later this month have the potential to hurt insurers, Insurance Europe said. The association for commercial insurers is asking that data controllers be allowed to process information for guarding against fraud, to profile prospective policyholders and to meet regulatory and contractual obligations. They also ask that a contract provide legal grounds for insurers to process sensitive data and that insurers not be forced to disclose confidential information to competitors.Full statement follows:...
