CFTC to consider rules for virtual currency futures: Giancarlo

( January 19, 2018, 20:12 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Christopher Giancarlo, head of the US Commodity Futures Trading Commission, said the agency will consider adopting rules for futures markets that offer trading venues for virtual currency futures. The CFTC got voluntary agreement from the Chicago Mercantile Exchange and the CBOE Futures Exchange to set high margins, reporting thresholds and other standards for Bitcoin futures when they were first offered last year. Rule-making would allow input by clearing banks and others before markets offer virtual currency products in the future, Giancarlo said.See document below....
