​China’s NDRC, Ministry of Commerce release 2015 foreign investment directory

( March 13, 2015, 05:15 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: China’s National Development and Reform Commission and the Ministry of Commerce on March 10 publicized their latest foreign investment directory, which lists areas where foreign investments are encouraged, restricted or prohibited, and it will take effect on April 10, the NDRC said in a statement Friday. According to the catalog, the government will further open up manufacturing and service sectors and encourage foreign investment in research and development. The number of areas where investment is restricted drops from 79 to 38 and there will no longer be a limit on foreign ownership in industries where investment is allowed, including steel, ethylene, papermaking, lifting machinery, electricity transmission equipment and liquor.The full statement follows and the catalog is attached....
