EU ministers commit to increase 2030 energy targets, CAN Europe says

( September 24, 2019, 14:11 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Ireland, France, Latvia, Slovenia, Cyprus, Bulgaria and Greece have committed to increase their national commitments in terms of renewable energy and energy efficiency to help the bloc achieve its EU-wide targets for 2030, the environmental group Climate Action Network Europe has said. In June, the European Commission pointed out a “gap” between national ambition levels and the bloc’s energy-efficiency and renewable-energy targets for 2030.  EU countries have until the end of the year to complete their energy and climate plans, which should describe how national governments intend to contribute to the bloc’s 2030 targets.Statement follows: ...
