UK lenders to extend coronavirus mortgage-payment deferrals, regulator says

( October 31, 2020, 20:55 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: UK banks and building societies will offer mortgage borrowers further support as the country heads into a one-month lockdown to help curb the spread of Covid-19. The Financial Conduct Authority has said it would propose additional guidance allowing those that have not already benefitted from a payment deferral to request one of up to six months, and for lenders to offer tailored support to borrowers that have already a deferral in place, including allowing them to extend it to up to six months.Statement follows....
