SEC panel recommends 'accredited investor' definition consider sophistication

( March 4, 2015, 16:26 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The US Securities and Exchange Commission advisory committee on small and emerging companies recommended that the SEC revise its definition of "accredited investor" to take into account an investor’s sophistication. The SEC should also regularly adjust the income and net-worth dollar thresholds to account for inflation, the panel said. SEC rules under Regulation D require that private offerings be limited to accredited investors who meet certain standards.See document below....
