South Carolina traders to pay over $10 million in CFTC anti-fraud enforcement action

( August 15, 2016, 16:55 GMT | Official Statement) -- Mlex Summary: The US Commodity Futures Trading Commission on Monday announced that a federal judge entered an order against Robert S. Leben and Amy L. Leben of Columbia, South Carolina, in an enforcement action charging them with misappropriating pool participant funds and failing to register as commodity pool operators.  The CFTC alleged that between August 2008 and March 12, 2014, the Lebens fraudulently solicited and accepted at least $3.2 million to trade commodity futures contracts through a pool, which they only partially traded. The order requires the Lebens to pay restitution to victims in the amount of $2,551,596, disgorgement in the amount of $109,787, and a civil monetary penalty in the amount of $7,654,788. Statement follows in full.
